Our 2010-2011 concert season features what has made Mostly Music Chicago so successful through the years: exciting artists performing wonderful chamber music in intimate settings. This year, our roster includes the vibrant Voxare String Quartet, a collaboration between the Georgia Guitar Quartet and baritone Robert Sims, and Chicago’s own CUBE Ensemble performing an afternoon of music by the ever-popular American composer William Bolcom. Always known for the graciousness of the private residences where we hold our performances, Mostly Music will expand into more public venues, such as the magnificent Charles Dawes House in Evanston and the Louis Sullivan designed Charnely-Persky House in Chicago. Our season will include a celebration of the 200th birthdays of three composers who contributed so much to the classical music repertoire -- Schumann, Chopin and Liszt. We shall feature the works of these musical giants as well as others who influenced, or were influenced by them. Of course, funding continues to be a major challenge for arts organizations. We are therefore especially grateful to our supporters, including those who made our Annual Benefit at The Arts Club of Chicago last March so successful. We are also proud to announce two generous program grants for this coming season – one from The Saints, and the other from the A.N. and Pearl G. Barnett Family Foundation. As always, support from those who attend our concerts is essential to maintaining this high level of programming. Please consider a tax-deductible contribution to Mostly Music Chicago along with your subscription to our new season. Check here for further updates as our season unfolds. We look forward to seeing you at the concerts! |
